The complete details about the upcoming India bound Mitsubishi Outlander facelift have been unveiled on a Japanese website ahead of its launch in order to reveal its overall cosmetic as well as mechanical renovations. Already showcased at the New York International Auto Show, the newly updated compact SUV looks more glamorous as compared to its predecessor with latest “Dynamic Shield” X-shaped front bumper, redesigned rear bumper and larger LED tail lights. Interestingly, the vehicle receives improved sound insulation, including reformed NVH levels, weather stripping, engine compartment trim and a noise insulating windshield.
Hence, the forthcoming model overall renders more eye-catching glimpse for everyone than the current version with superbly retouched cosmetic components. Based on the latest design philosophy of Mitsubishi, the SUV includes a CVT and an electric power steering in order to enhance its acceleration and handling for the customers. Coming to the Mechanical features, its powertrain remains same and power will come from the ongoing 2.4 litre MPI MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve-Timing Electronic Control System) gasoline engine, which is good for making an appreciable power of 170 PS and a maximum torque of 226 NM at 4,100 rpm.
This runabout is likely to be available in the Indian market only in a petrol mill by the end of 2015 and its oil burner variant will be introduced next year. The Mitsubishi Outlander facelift will take on the likes of the Hyundai Santa Fe, Honda CR-V, Nissan X-Trail and new Ford Endeavour.
