India Bound Renault Kaptur Revealed as a 5-Seater Option

Based on the European-based Captur's styling and designed, Renault Kaptur has been revealed officially that is comparatively larger in dimensions. One of the teaser images of India-bound Kaptur has also been released officially sometime before. While the carmaker is planning to showcase this new model at the 2016 Sao Paulo International Motor Show in November and launch in Brazil in early 2017, the India-based car will arrive by October 2017.

Starting with dimensions that have been increased to 233 mm in length, 35 mm in width and 47 mm in height as well as the wheelbase has also been stretched by 68 mm. For now, the vehicle carries dimensions of 4,333 mm, 1,819 mm, 1,613 mm and 2,674 mm respectively. Apart from these, it will be available in 5-seater option.

Along with greater space in the cabin, the car will come out with more ground clearance of 204 mm. In order to minimise damage and interference, the company has also increased the ramp angles such as approach angels by 20 degrees and departure angle by 31 degrees. Already the car has enough boot volume of 387 litres, but you can enhance it to 1200 litres by fully folding the rear seats.

Having the same Duster platform, Renault Kaptur gets some changes to the cosmetic design. It includes, a large front bumper, LED headlights with daytime running lights at the front and the wider tailgate, a rear bumper with skid plates and LED tail-lights at the rear profile. Besides, it will sit on either a 16-inch or 17-inch alloy wheels as an option.

There aren't any details about the powertrain, but it may come with all-wheel drive facility as Renaults confirmed about the Russia-based model. However, the official images have been confirmed about the transmission option that is a 6-speed manual and an automatic unit too.
