The Indian Automobile Manufacturer Mahindra has introduced the KUV100 Trip, a special variant of its “Kool Utility Vehicle” KUV100, which was launched in 2016. The KUV100 Trip has been launched in two variants, the bi-fuel version (petrol and CNG) comes with a starting price of Rs 5.16 lakh and the diesel variant is priced at Rs 5.42 lakh. The car is available in two colour options - Dazzling Silver and Diamond White.
The target customer base of the KUV100 Trip includes cab companies and fleet operators who need a compact yet spacious car that is easy and affordable to maintain. The new car is based on the previous KUV100 version in terms of equipment and design. The main features include a manual AC, headlight adjustment, and electric power steering but no audio system. The safety features include ISOFIX mounts, ABS with EBD, and dual airbags but no power windows.

The petrol/CNG variant comes with the same old 3-cylinder petrol engine with 1.2-litre capacity. The petrol engine is capable of producing 115Nm of maximum torque and 83PS of top power. There is no clarification about the engine capacity and power of the CNG variant. The diesel variant of the KUV100 Trip comes with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine, capable of producing 190Nm of peak torque and 78PS of power. Both variants get the same 5-speed manual transmission.
The company claims that the standard KUV100 petrol engine has a fuel efficiency of 18.15 kmpl while the diesel engine gives a mileage of up to 25.32 kmpl. Mahindra has not revealed the exact fuel efficiency parameters for the KUV100 Trip, however, it claims that the running cost for this car will be in the range of Rs 0.35-0.40 per km, which is certainly not bad. The Trip variants will be sold with an optional 5 years extended warranty package which can be availed by paying additional Rs 9,270.
