Once again the upcoming compact SUV from Mahindra codenamed S101 has become a hot topic of discussion for the official name it is going to carry. A lot of chaos has been going on lately, which has still not ended. After a series of speculated terminologies, there is still a lot of confusion regarding the official name of the vehicle. Names like XUV100, CUV100, YUV100 and KUV100 have been already proposed by various sources. However, recently the website autocarindia has suggested that KUV100 is the confirmed name, whereby KUV stands for Kompact Utility Vehicle.

Interestingly, the automaker already offers an SUV known as XUV500 and naming this one as XUV100 would mean giving rise to confusion. Moreover, the company doesn't want the audience to relate both the models, thereby ignoring the importance of the former one, which is an established model in its segment. It is believed that such alpha numeric terminology can attract comparatively more customers than the regular names. Hence, after XUV500, the company came up with TUV300 and now this upcoming offering will also follow the same pattern.
Well, as we informed you that this SUV will be launched in India by January 2016 and a TV commercial has also been shot. Apparently, the automobile giant is trying hard to keep everything secret including the looks, features and most importantly the name of the four-wheeler. Well, maybe we'll have to wait for the commercial to be aired in order to catch the glimpse of this Mahindra offering.
