As the new Ciaz SHVS from Maruti is about to arrive in the market this month, an important detail has been disclosed by the market reports. These reports suggest that the upcoming hybrid model will be introduced in three variants namely, VDi, ZDi and ZDi+. It is a diesel hybrid model equipping batteries as well as motors under the hood. The use of Smart Hybrid Vehicle Technology implies that the source of power will be a lithium-ion battery that has the ability to get charged via a regenerative braking system. Besides, the Blue Technology will reduce harmful emissions from the motor.
The diesel engine found in this upcoming sedan will comprise a 1.3 litre Multijet unit, which is environmentally viable and hence causes less pollution. This hybrid setup returns an impressive mileage of 28-30 kmpl, thereby placing it at the top rank in terms of fuel efficiency particularly in the sedan segment. Certain tweaked features will be witnessed at the interior as well as exterior portions as compared to the outgoing diesel variant.
The outgoing version failed to perform up to the automaker's expectations and hence the sales are rapidly declining. As a result, designing the model with a new engine is surely going to help in recovering the losses.
