Maruti Suzuki Recalls 20,427 Units of S-Cross in India

Maruti Suzuki India has announced to recall around 20,427 units of its premium crossover model S-Cross as the car has been encountered with an faulty brake part. The company has initiated a 'free service campaign' to replace the faulty part ASAP.

However, the company is not terming it a genuine recall as it is just a small replacement work. The company will replace the faulty brake part of only those S-Cross models that were manufactured between April 20, 2015 to February 12, 2016.
The statement released by the automaker says, "The service campaign applies to both the S-Cross variants (DDiS200 and DDiS320). The inspection and replacement will be done free of cost."

The owners will be contacted by their dealerships soon. The statement further added that the service campaigns are being undertaken globally by automobile companies in order to rectify faults that may be problematic to the S-Cross customers. All that the Owners need to do is to fill in the chassis number (MA3 followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number) on the official website. The chassis number can be obtained from vehicle ID plate and the vehicle registration documents.

In India, the S-Cross is priced in the range Rs 8.03 lakh and Rs 12.03 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and most importantly, the car is sold via premium retail outlet Nexa showrooms only instead of conventional Maruti Showrooms.

Just last year itself, the automake has to recall around 33,098 units of Alto 800 and Alto K10 that were manufactured between December 8, 2014 and February 18, 2015 in order to rectify the faulty side doors.
