Mercedes-Benz has released the UK prices for the S-Class Cabriolet ahead of its India launch. We have also witnesses the convertible version of the S-Class i.e S500 Cabriolet at this year’s Auto Expo which was held in New Delhi. The reports suggest that the car is expected to arrive in the Indian showroom in few months.
The S-class Cabriolet has been offered in three versions, the S500 comes with a price tag of £110,120.00 (Rs 1.04 Crores), the S63 has been priced at £135,675.00 (Rs 1.28 Crore) and the S65 is available at £192,805.00 (Rs 1.82 Crore) (on-road price UK). Mechanically, the S500 comes fitted with a twin-turbo 4.6-litre V8 engine that generates a power output of 449bhp, the Mercedes-AMG S63 comes loaded with a 5.5-litre V8 twin-turbocharged engine which is capable of producing 577bhp of power and the top variant S65 is powered by a 6.0-litre V12 twin-turbo engine that generates 621bhp of peak power.
However, the automaker has limited the top speed of these models for 249kmph. The S500 sprints 0-100 kmph in just 4.6 seconds, while the S600 takes about 4.2 seconds. The S65 does it in 4.1 seconds. Moreover, the S63 and the S 65 gets an optional AMG Driver’s package that helps it to reach a top speed of 299kmph.
In India, the S-Class Cabriolet will arrive via the CBU route. The automaker has panned to come up in India with the S500 trim. Looking to the heavy customs duty, the car is expected to be priced between Rs 2.5 crore to Rs 3 crore.
