MG Motor will launch an all-electric SUV for the Indian market by 2020. The electric SUV will be the second Indian offering from the British Automaker. Reportedly, the first car from the MG Motor factory will dawn Indian Roads during the second quarter of next year. Speculations are rife that the electric SUV will most probably be MG MarvelX.
Touted as the game changer in the EV space in India, the MG MarvelX will be in line with India’s stand towards clean energy for environmental conservation. Power duties will rest on two electric motors. Other details of the e-SUV are still under wraps.

However, what we know as of now is that the e-SUV will be tailor made as per the likes and dislikes of the Indian Audience. Rajeev Chaba, President & Managing Director, MG Motor India said, " All our products will be designed and engineered in UK and China with the support of Indian engineers.”

The India Bound e-SUV will be heavily localized. Manufacturing duties will be performed by the company’s Halol based production site in Gujarat. The production units to roll out from Halol will be at par with global quality standards and customized to cater to the needs and demands of the Indian Car lovers. Michael Yang, Executive Director of International Business, SAIC Motor & President of SAIC Motor International Company said, " The pure electric SUV will be a breakthrough chapter in the EV space in India, being one of its kind in the market.”
