New Honda Amaze 2018 is set to launch in India on 16 May. The existing model of the Amaze was not able to compete for the updated model of Maruti Dzire as it is feature-rich and has an automatic transmission option along with petrol and diesel engines.
The new Amaze is embedded with new features and with appealing powertrain options as well to go against the Dzire in the market. Here is the spec comparison between those:

New Honda Amaze in maximum 4 metres length comes with a 20mm longer wheelbase than the Dzire and manages good cabin space along with a 420-litre boot which is the biggest in the segment. With 42 litre more boot space and better ground clearance, it is still shorter than the Dzire which can be adjusted to compromise with headroom.
Further, the Amaze is lightweight though little heavy than Dzire as the top variant of it is only 50kg heavier.

Both the sedan comes powered with the same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder engine though Amaze varies slightly with additional power generation of 7PS and 3Nm less torque generation. Both have an auto gearbox, however, Amaze has CVT and Dzire has AMT. The Dzire has longer range, better efficiency figure with a bigger fuel tank.

In diesel engine option, the Amaze exceeds with 25PS power and 10 Nm of torque but with CVT option it goes down by 20PS and 40Nm. The mileage of the Amaze CVT drops by 3.6kmpl. Although the Dzire AMT remains the same with manual versions.

The new Honda Amaze was not feature-rich previously, it gets LED tail lights, 7.0-inch floating digipad 2.0 infotainment system, LED position lights, rear camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, steering-integrated paddle shifts, height-adjustable front seat, 15-inch alloy wheels, auto climate control, push start-stop, cruise control and parking sensors.

Even with the update, it doesn’t get LED projector headlamps, automatic headlamps, DRLs and leather-wrapped steering wheel which are available in Dzire. Both sedans get ISOFIX mounts as standard, dual front airbags, and ABS.
The Maruti Dzire has been priced in the range of Rs 5.56 lakh to Rs 9.43 lakh in India while the Amaze is also expected to price in the same range.
