Earlier in 2014, the German automobile manufacturer had abandoned the development of a junior Panamera model, which is also known as Pajun. But, if the reports from AUTOCAR are to be believed, the test mule of baby Panamera dubbed the Pajun was spied testing on the track once again. It appears like Porsche has started to work on its unfinished business.
As the company has already confirmed its plan for a new smaller crossover of its much popular mid-sized SUV, Cayenne, rumoured to be called Cajun. Since the Panamera is also a successful product from the brand, Porsche is also working on a smaller version of it that is being initially called the Pajun.
However, the Pajun will be based on the smaller platform with the same styling features, but it is expected to be a five-door coupe, unlike the current generation Panamera’s four-door liftback body structure. The smaller package includes smaller doors and shortened wheelbase.

Considering some old reports, the smaller Panamera is expected to share some of its parts with the Audi A6, also it could carry the same powertrain from its V6 petrol and diesel motors. Some reports also suggest that it is likely to get its own range-topping power unit which can produce around 507 hp. It was also rumoured that the Pajun would come as pure electric car and would rival to the Tesla’s Model 3.
Furthermore, this new Pajun will be offered with two and four-wheel drive options. More about this car has to be revealed yet by the Porsche, as of now the brand is remaining silent about the model. No confirmation on its arrival, though it can make its global entry sometime in 2019, sources. When launched, this smaller five-door coupe will compete globally with the most mainstream models like Audi A6, Mercedes E-Class and BMW 5-Series.
