If the information on Skoda’s Indian website is to be believed, the Superb Sportline sedan might soon be launched in India. The car was listed on the website recently along with other premium cars from the Czech automobile manufacturer. It is a clear indication of Skoda’s plans to launch the new Sedan in the country, probably to back the fame of Octavia Rs, which has become a very popular sedan in the Indian car market.
However, the website doesn’t tell much about the Indian variant of the Superb Sportline or when it will be launched. The sedan is already being offered in the European market for some time now. The Indian-spec car is expected to be inspired from the same.

The Sportline was introduced in the European market as the sporty (more performance-based) variant of the Superb model. The new car features some mechanical updates as well as cosmetic changes.
The exterior of the sedan gets some upgrades in the form of ‘Sportline’ badging on the front, 18 or 19-inch alloy wheels in glossy black shades, tinted rear windshield and rear side windows. The interior of the car has also been customized with new sports seats, leather steering wheel, aluminium pedals and a performance monitor feature in the infotainment system.

Other advanced features of the Skoda Superb Sportline include optional Adaptive Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), an electronic differential lock with Driving Mode Select to allow drivers to select the driving mode and performance with one touch and enhanced XDS+ function. The Sportline model features lower suspension than the standard variant, which complements its sporty character.
The Superb Sportline Indian variant is expected to get the same petrol and diesel engines that run its European model. The sedan features a 1.8-litre turbocharged engine with two tuning states which is capable of producing 180PS and 250Nm when coupled with a 7-speed DSG (Direct-shift gearbox) transmission. The engine produces 180PS and 320Nm when coupled with a 6-speed MT (Manual transmission). The diesel variant will be powered by a 2.0-litre TDI engine coupled with a 6-speed DSG transmission. It generates 177PS and 350Nm top torque.
