The famous crossover named Tivoli that belongs to Ssang Yong Motor Company, has been imported to India for some research and development purposes. This model will be co-owned by Mahindra & Mahindra in our country. It was launched in South Korea in January 2015 and since then has become prominent player in its segment, worldwide. The name Tivoli emerged because it reads I LOV IT in the reverse order. For Indian markets, it will be introduced as a Mahindra offering and will be positioned above Scorpio. This upcoming vehicle will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster.

Talking about the dimensions, it will measure 4195 mm long, 1590 mm tall, 1795 mm wide along with a wheelbase of around 2600 mm. In the Korean market, it is offered with a 1.6 litre, 4-cylinder engine in both diesel and petrol guises. The petrol mill has the capacity to make 124Bhp, whereas the diesel one churns out 113Bhp of output. The transmission options include a 6-speed gearbox in both manual and automatic versions.

It is being speculated that the Indian spec of Tivoli might get a tweaked version of the 1.5 litre mHwak80 diesel motor, found in TUV300. It is a well known fact that Mahindra is one of the leading companies here with its popular models like Scorpio and TUV300. The latter has even gained second spot among the top sold SUVs in the month of September. We expect that with the arrival of Tivoli, the brand name of Mahindra is going to get a competitive edge over the rival SUVs.
