Gixxer- one of the prominent game changers in the Indian two-wheeler market is coming with a more premium specific variant. As per the reports, Suzuki is planning to launch a more powerful 250cc Gixxer this year after perceiving good sales figures of the bike. Kenji Hirozawa, Vice President, Suzuki Motorcycles India, conveyed, "We are looking at bringing in a more premium, India-specific motorcycle based on the Gixxer which will be between 150cc and 250cc." “We have been losing money in all the 10 years that we have been operational in India. This will be the first year that we will be profitable. We have been able to achieve this primarily on the back of exports and good performance of Gixxer,” he added.

Back in 2014, Suzuki Motorcycles India, has first launched Gixxer 150, which had shown impressive results and was an award winning motorcycle in the Indian bazaar. The sales got hiked up during the period between April 2015 and February 2016 in which the domestic dispatches were around 76,766 units whereas the exports were counted as 36000 units. Seeing this record, it has been concluded that the company's export volume went double as compared to the previous year.
Probably the Gixxer 250 will get an all-new air-cooled 250cc motor that will generate a power output of 25BHP while the engine gets transmission via a six-speed gearbox. Braking duties will be taken by disc brakes up front while rear may get engineered with ABS. Pretty identical to its earlier siblings, the motorcycle is likely to get telescopic forks up front with single-shock suspension at the rear end.
