Toyota Kirloskar Motors will reportedly be showcasing a wide range of products at the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo in 3 different zones. First will be its new vehicles, second will be the existing ones and third will be the hybrid models. In the hybrid zone, Toyota Corolla Hybrid has been confirmed to be presented by the automaker.
Due to the rising air pollution, the environmental concerns have also risen lately, which have in turn led to an increase in the demand for hybrid vehicles. Since hybrids and electric cars were exempted from the Odd-even scheme that was introduced in Delhi, Toyota witnessed a boost in the demand for Camry hybrid that rose from 45-50 units to around 80 units per month. As a result, the automaker is focusing on the hybrid vehicles for the Indian automobile market.

The Corolla Altis sold in India is a regular one, however its hybrid version is available only in China. The latter is adorned with a striking front fascia carrying win bar chrome grille, a pair of LED lights, and a wraparound air dam. The fog lamps are infused into the front bumper and other stylish elements include chrome alloy wheels as well as chrome accent on the door. Mechanically, the Chinese spec is offered with a 1.5 litre engine coupled to an electric motor, which delivers 20.40 km/l of mileage.
It hasn't been disclosed whether the Corolla hybrid will be arriving at the Indian showrooms, but considering the increasing sales of Camry hybrid as well as the rising pollution concerns, it may be launched soon in the country. Even though the odd-even policy is not confirmed to be implemented on a permanent basis, the hybrid vehicles are surely going to be benefited in the near future.
