Earlier, when have posted about the launch of much-anticipated first full-fairing motorcycle from TVS Motor Company, the Apache RR 310S, it was set to launch in July-2017. Now, it is officially announced to hit the Indian motoring market in August or September month this year. In a meet with CarandBike, Arun Siddharth, Vice President (Marketing)- Motorcycles, of TVS Motor Company Limited said that the production-spec model is ready to go on sale in the middle of this financial year, that will be in sometimes late August or early september.
"We launched the Apache 200 last year, and we got a response which far exceeded our expectations, because it was the first time we had a product in that engine capacity. So, the next step is the vehicle from the TVS-BMW Motorrad long-term cooperation platform. You've seen BMW's model, we'll be presenting our vehicle by mid of this financial year," said Siddharth.
As per the recently leaked online patent filing document, this TVS Motor’s flagship motorcycle could get TVS Apache RR 310S moniker and will be the most powerful bike from Hosur based manufacturing unit. In the Apache series, the motorcycle will be the first TVS bike to sport full fairing and get place as an entry-level sportbike. The “TVS racing DNA”, which is the company’s mainstay in the Apache series will also get a push in forward direction.
If talked about the offered features and fitments of the Apache RR 310S, which is based on the TVS Akula 310 concept at the 2016 Auto Expo, the entry level sportbike is likely to be loaded with lots of top end features such as a compact frame, clip-on handlebars, split seat, petal discs, standard dual-channel ABS, high-performance tyres and much more.

"The BMW G 310 R and our product have the same platform. But our product is completely different; it speaks to a completely different kind of audience in the same performance segment. It has a very clear job to do with the TVS mother brand, and TVS Racing as a mother brand. And how we future cast it; that's the brand which will be the face of what we are capable of doing, we really pushed the ante on that. Our focus is to capture the mind-share first with a product that is very, very, uniquely different," added Siddharth.
Mechanically, the Apache RR 310S will get propelling power from the joint-venture developed BMW G 310 R’s engine. The 313cc, liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine, is anticipated to refine for sportsbike nature and is said to develop around 34bhp of maximum power and deliver 28Nm of peak torque through the mated five speed gearbox.
On pricing concern, the TVS Apache RR 310S could hit the dealership at the price tag under Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Anyhow, if bike maker manages to keep motorcycle’s price around Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), then chances are it become a pretty attractive option in the entry level sportbike segment. At the suggested pricing, the TVS Apache RR 310S will pitted against the KTM RC 390 in the segment and may be turned out as the most-affordable entry-level sports runner in the Indian motoring market.
