We have come across some spyshots of the upcoming 2016 Skoda Rapid facelift on the Internet. Special thanks to Motoroids team, who have recently posted a series of spy shots featuring the midsize sedan, unveiling it inside out. The sedan is expected to be launched by August this year. It will be skoda’s second offering in the country.
Looking to the images, the front fascia features a revised bumper, updated grille design, new headlamps, facelifted front fenders, and a new engine hood. The rear part seems to be receiving more significant changes as well.
The interior features latest equipment assembled within the centre console along with new dual tone seat fabrics. It is likely to get upgraded features such as auto dimming IRVM, rain sensing wipers, new Mirrorlink infotainment system, and SMS plus phone book viewer.
Under the hood, it is likely to get a 1.6-litre MPI four-cylinder petrol power mill and an upgraded version of the 1.5-litre TDI four-cylinder diesel unit . The petrol engine will be available with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission options. The diesel engine could be mated to either a 5-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmission options. In India, the sedan will rival against Honda City, VW Vento, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Ciaz.
