Yamaha Motor India has introduced the disc brake model of its existing popular scooter Alpha that will make its move to the dealerships from mid June. The company has recently launched its new Ray ZR 110 in the country one and a half months before. This new variant would certainly enhance up the sales of Yamaha in the scooter segment as the tourer has got fresh color schemes as well apart from the disc brake option. As per the price perspective, it carries a tag of INR 52,556 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The two new colors are Radiant Cyan and Marvel Black.

No cosmetic modifications have been seen so far apart from the two new colors and the front disc brake. Under the hood, the scooter features an identical 113cc air-cooled engine that generates the same power in the all the Yamaha scooters lineup uptill now. Featuring the Blue Core Technology, the engine is allowed to deliver a power of 7.1PS at 7500 RPM and a peak torque of 8.1NM at 5000 RPM.
“The scooter market has witnessed rapid growth in the last few years and Yamaha has been able to make steady inroad in this segment. Yamaha is looking at reaching a 10 per cent market share by the end of this year and the introduction of this latest variant of the Cygnus Alpha scooter is expected to further propel its growth in the segment. This latest offering with disc brake is aimed at families who want that additional safety feature.” said Roy Kurian, Vice President, sales & marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt Ltd while commenting on the launch.
