This is not the first time when someone has customized the Yamaha Star Bolt. We have already seen various craftsmanship of the aforementioned cruiser, but every time in a new avatar. Customizing a cruiser motorcycle is just not about replacing some parts and fitting out new components, it should be matching up the theme you will be giving to the donor bike. This time the Matt Black is the one which has come up with an all new customized cafe-racer, Yamaha XV950. And, believe me, it is one of the state-of-the-art motorcycle I’ve ever seen turning in to a cafe-racer from a cruiser motorcycle.
The under-construction hand-hammered motorcycle is christened as “Playa del Rey” and later it is known as Yamaha XV950. The aftermarket work done by the Matt Black Custom Design has also received minor supervision of the Yamaha Star Bolt designer itself, giving his appearance in the Yard Build movement. If you are a big fan of Vintage motorcycles, then the Yamaha XV950 would probably become your first and foremost choice.
The Matt Black designer has given a retro-outlook along with a modern twist in terms of performance. With 21 inches of front rim size, the designer is offering much comfortable riding quality. The manufacturer has installed a newly designed rear pulley with cush drive system, Lexan catered see-through cam gear cover, left side crankcase cover and generator cover. Even being a hand crafted motorcycle, the manufacturer has used various enhanced components to design the Yamaha XV950.
The Matt Black has itself crafted the uniquely designed fuel tank and given it an attractive paint scheme complimenting the complete motorcycle. The customized exhaust tail is catered by Mivv Ghibli. Beautifying the retro look of the cafe-racer, Matt Black has fitted Rizoma bullet turn signals, foot-pegs and Motogadget speedometer. The riding quality has been taken care by dual springer fork by Rebuffini and Ohlins rear shocks. The broad and track inspired wheels with designer rims compliments the retro look of this gorgeous machine.
