Schedule a Ride: Uber Latest Feature For Advance Bookings

American online transportation company Uber taking into strides its popularity among the Indian users has now launched a new feature. The new feature as per reports has been named "Schedule a Ride" and it allows its users to book a cab in advance be it a 15 minutes advance booking or up to 30 days in advance.

This new feature has been made live across over 20 cities in India and the company via email statement has clarified that this feature had been amongst the top-requested services across the world.

Uber India President Mr. Amit Jain in an email statement clarified the importance of bringing in the new "Schedule a Ride" feature in the country. As per the official statement "Uber's objective to offer accessible and reliable rides goes a notch further with the introduction of 'Schedule a Ride' feature. Riders can use this feature to book a ride from 15 mins to 30 days in advance. For our driver-partners, it minimizes idle time and for riders, it is an additional comfort of knowing your Uber will be there when it's time to head out."

Wondering as to How to use Schedule a Ride feature? It's actually pretty much easy, simply select UberGo or UberX option, tap on Schedule a Ride. Once you get the option of choosing the date, time, location and destination simply feed in the details. After cross checking, if the inserted data is correct, press the Schedule UberX or Schedule UberGo button.

Once all this is done, the app would start allowing the cancellation of a ride at any point before the ride is on its way. The company Uber clearly mentions that its standard cancellation policy applies to Scheduled Rides as well. Not just this, the application would even send two reminders one 24 hours before and the second one 30 minutes before the actual pickup time. Additionally, the user will also be notified of the fact if the dynamic pricing is applicable or not, and also when the ride is on the way.

The addition of new feature is important from the business perspectives too. The company stating the importance about the same in its official statement added, "With the launch of 'schedule a ride' our Uber for Business customers now have the choice to plan every aspect of their business travel well in advance."

Uber recently gained attention in the country when it introduced two new India-specific features - Request a Ride for Others, and Dial an Uber. Alongside, Uber also introduced self-driven cars on the roads of Pittsburgh, that being said, the company has decided to keep one driver inside on the steering wheel to just avoid any kind of mishappening.
