As expected, the Nokia 8.1 6GB RAM and 128GB Storage Variant has been launched in India on 31st January 2019. Previously, HMD Global had launched the Nokia 8.1 only in a single 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant in December 2018 in India. Just after a few months of launching the 4GB RAM and 64GB RAM model of Nokia 8.1, HMD Global has introduced the new variant of the device that has been coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM. The sale of the new variant would start from the next week.
In India, the Nokia 8.1 6GB RAM and 128GB Storage Variant comes with a price tag of Rs 29,999 which is slighter higher than the 4GB RAM and 64GB RAM model. The new variant of the Nokia 8.1 will be available for purchase in the country from February 6 at Amazon.in and Nokia online store as well as offline retail outlets. The Nokia 8.1 new variant comes in two color options: Iron and Blue the same as the older variant. The interested users can pre-book the Nokia 8.1 6GB RAM and 128GB Storage Variant from February 1 at Nokia official website and Amazon India.
A few days ago, HMD had launched the Nokia 8.1 in India with basic 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model that costs Rs 26,999. Just after its launch event, the HMD Global has announced that the Nokia 8.1 high- end 6GB RAM and 128GB Storage Model would be unveiled in January 2019. Nokia 8.1 is a renamed version of Nokia X7 that was initially launched in the China market in October during this year. Nokia 8.1 was also launched in Dubai in the previous week.
The representative of HMD Global has announced that the Nokia 8.1 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model will be coming to India in January. Currently, the representative has not revealed the price and availability details of the new Nokia 8.1 storage model.
The Nokia 8.1, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage has been listed on the official website of Nokia, though the users can pre-book the device from here.

In India, the Nokia 8.1 costs Rs 26,999 for 4GB RAM/64GB ROM. The color options of the variant will be- Iron/Steel and Blue/Silver. The Nokia 8.1 will go on sale from December 25, 2018, through top mobile retailers (including MyG, Croma, Reliance, Sangeetha and Big C), the Nokia.com/phones, and the Amazon India. The pre-booking has already been started from 10 December 2018 through Nokia.com/phone and retailers while the Amazon will have a ‘Notify Me’ page.
HMD Global said that Airtel prepaid users will get 1TB of 4G data on the valid plans which will start from Rs 199 and upto 120GB of extra data for Airtel postpaid users on the valid plans starting from Rs 499 as the launch offers of Nokia 8.1. Along with these plans, the launch offer of Nokia 8.1 will also include a 1-year Amazon Prime subscription and a 3-month Netflix subscription. Those who are buying the device from retailers (with Pinelabs terminals) will get 10% cashback from HDFC Bank on debit and credit card EMI transactions and those who are pre-booking the device or choose the ‘Notify Me’ button from Amazon India will get 6-month screen replacement from Servify.
