Red Color Editions of iPhone 8 and 8 Plus Launch Set

As expected, Apple officially unveiled the special Red editions of iPhone 8 and 8 Plus on 9th April 2018 along with matching accessories. Earlier in the year 2017 March, Apple had launched the Red Color Editions of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7+. However, the company had not announced this information officially, whereas it was spotted on Virgin Mobile Memo obtained by MacRumors which is pointing towards the unveiling of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in new RED colour variants.

After the formal launch of Red colour variants, the company has unveiled the pricing, availability and storage variants of new Apple phones. The new iPhone variants come with a matte red aluminium finish and it will be available in two storage options: 64GB and 256GB. The Apple new iPhones 64GB and 256GB variants will be available for pre-orders in US and several other selected markets. It is available for purchase in retail stores later this week most probably from 13th April 2018.

As per leaked memo from Virgin Mobile which was seen by MacRumors suggests that Apple will unveil the Red Color Editions of iPhone 8 and 8 Plus on 9th April and will be listed by the carrier on the same day. At the formal launch, Apple has disclosed the pricing of new Apple iPhones. As such, there are no changes in the prices of new iPhone 8 series Apple iPhones. That means the new iPhone 8 Red 64GB storage variant is available at $699 in the US (Rs. 67,940 in India), whereas 256GB variants cost around $849 (roughly Rs. 81,500 in India). On another hand, iPhone 8 Plus 64 GB and 256GB storage variants are available at a price of $799 (Rs. 77,560) and $949 (Rs. 91,110) respectively.

However, the memo does not disclose any information regarding iPhone X RED Color Editions. It seems that company might launch (PRODUCT) RED Editions of all three new iPhone models which helps to support RED.

Apple stated that RED colour variants of new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will be available for pre-orders from 10th April after 5:30 a.m. It will arrive in stores and deliveries start from 13th April 2018 (Friday) in selected markets namely Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, and the US. It is available for purchase in other markets namely Brazil, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE and other countries and regions will follow later in April, with Chile, Colombia, India, Israel, Turkey from May.

The company is not launching the RED colour edition variants of iPhone to boost the sales but to support the medical help for the diseases such as HIV/AIDS in Africa and its regions.

Since 11 years, Apple Inc is working on (PRODUCT) RED which helps to combat with diseases like HIV/ AIDS and also providing counseling, testing, treatment, medicines, and prevention programmes with an attention to prevent transmission of the virus from mothers to their unborn child. So far, the Apple had collected US$160 million from selling RED (Product) across the globe. Every purchase helps them to cure transmission disease such as HIV/AIDS and are actively trying to spread the awareness as much as possible.

Deborah Dugan, CEO of (RED)'s said in a statement, "Today's announcement is further evidence of Apple's leadership in and commitment to the AIDS fight since the beginning of (RED) in 2006." He further added that "The more than $160 million Apple has donated in the last 11 years today equates to more than 800 million days of life-saving ARV medication that prevents the transmission of HIV from mothers to their babies. We're honored that Apple has dedicated its resources to our purpose, and can't wait to see customers bring our mission to life through the purchase of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (Product) Red Special Edition.
