Samsung has at last launched its Galaxy A80 in India on 18 July. The smartphone flaunts a full-HD+ Super AMOLED display and comes with Dolby Atmos audio integration. The handset runs on Android Pie and comes with an under-display fingerprint reader. The company dropped the plan of using notch, pop-up and punch hole, and instead used a rotating camera which makes the smartphone different from others.
The high resolution back cameras which includes 48MP primary sensor can also be used for taking selfies. The company claims that the smartphone comes with an extraordinary feature of “intelligent battery” which traces the activities of the user and according to that it optimises the battery life. The smartphone also comes with 25W ‘Super-Fast Charging' technology support.

The Samsung Galaxy A80 will be made available in three color options- Phantom Black, Ghost White, and Angel Gold with the last two having pearlescent effects.

The Samsung Galaxy A80 flaunts a 6.7-inch notchless full-HD+ Super AMOLED ‘New Infinity Display' with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. Under the hood, the smartphone gets the power from the newly launched Snapdragon 730G SoC, an octa-core processor with two cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six cores clocked at 1.7GHz. The processor is mated with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage, which cannot be further expanded as there is no microSD card slot.
In the imaging department, the company excluded the notch, punch hole and pop-up and instead used the rotating camera which can be used as rear camera as well as the front camera. The rotating camera features triple camera setup which houses a primary 48-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, a 8-megapixel secondary camera with an ultra wide-angle lens (123-degrees), an f/2.2 aperture and a 3D depth camera. There is an IR sensor that surrounds the optics.
While when the user selects the selfie mode, then the three cameras that are also used as the back camera pop-ups and turns towards the front to make it a selfie camera. Other features includes Super Steady video mode, Flaw Detection, and Scene Optimizer with detection for 30 scenes.
The Samsung Galaxy A80 runs One UI based Android 9.0 Pie. The smartphone has dual-SIM slot. The handset measures 165.2 x 76.5 x 9.3 mm and sports an under-display fingerprint reader. The smartphone packs a capacity of 3,700mAh battery with the support of 25W Super-Fast Charging.
Other features includes Bixby, Samsung Health, Samsung Pay, and Samsung Knox. the company also provided the users an Intelligent Performance Enhancer that uses AI for performance optimisation in the smartphone. The Bixby Routines traces the daily tasks of the user by learning the pattern of the user. The company claims that the Dolby Atmos technology will enhance the audio output with Bluetooth speakers and headphones.
