The Galaxy Note 8 is coming, we've known this fact for a while, and Samsung itself has readily helped publicize the fact. Samsung wants you to know there's a follow-up to the Galaxy Note 7 and is banking on people not presuming that it'll explode just like its predecessor. Explosiongate was a disaster for Samsung at the time, and the company is probably only just recovering from, with the success of the Galaxy S8 series. The firm lost a ton of money, but fortunately at least according to surveys conducted around the debacle, didn't lose too much. A lot of consumers said they'd buy Samsung devices again.
In the wake of the Galaxy Note 7 "explosiongate" fiasco, Samsung has been all too eager for punters to know that a replacement model is coming by the end of 2017. The firm has made a few statements to date which confirm the existence of an in-development Galaxy Note 8, even before we'd seen any leaked evidence of one elsewhere. Most notably, it promised that customers who returned their faulty Galaxy Note 7 and bought a Galaxy S7 series model, would, under this specific scheme at the time, be guaranteed a discount on a replacement Galaxy S8 or Galaxy Note 8 in 2017.

Prior to the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, however, Samsung is busy prepping the re-release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. That's right, the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 will be available to buy in certain regions in the coming weeks. The rehashed version of the Galaxy Note 7 has been reequipped and the battery has now been deemed safe for use. The handset will apparently be called the Samsung Galaxy Note 7R, according to Samsung.
Samsung will apparently release the Galaxy Note 8 in mid-August, meaning a launch is likely just around the corner, so expect plenty more leaks in the coming weeks. The news comes via The Bell, which is Korean news website, so, as always, take this with a pinch of salt. Having said that, we know Samsung is keen to get the Galaxy Note 8 out before the iPhone 8, so a mid-August release sounds about right, as it gives Samsung a free run at the market for a good month or two.

The latter part of 2017 will be very competitive with releases from Apple, Samsung, Nokia and OnePlus all competing for your hard-earned bucks. Expect huge marketing campaigns from Samsung and Apple, alongside a big push from OnePlus. Back at the beginning of the year, sources suggested Samsung was being careful with this year’s Note release – lest we forget what happened with the Note 7 – but it now seems as if Samsung is happy with the phone and is confident that it won’t blow up.
