After disclosing the news about the launch of Mi 9 which will compete the Samsung on the very same day i.e. February 20, 2019, Xiaomi has announced that a press event will be organized alongside the MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2019. The company shared a teaser on the social media revealing that they will showcase a new product in Barcelona, Spain on February 24. The teaser does not reveal much of the information but it is assumed that Xiaomi might introduce the 5G variant of Mix Mix 3 smartphone or might also give the details about the availability of the Mi 9 in foreign markets.
In the teaser, the tagline “We make it happen” does not specifically point out about the "new product launch". The company might also introduce its foldable phone which was teased in a video shared by a leading website.

At the CES 2019 tech fair which was held in January 2019, the company showed off the 5G variant of the Mi Mix 3 but did not disclose the launch date and the price. Mobile World Congress is definitely a good platform to disclose the details about the 5G variant of the Mi Mix 3 because, after China, Europe is the country which is eagerly waiting for its launch as it has 5G network. India is also a major Market for Xiaomi but there is a lack of 5G networks. The other countries which have 5G network including South Korea and US, there is absence of Mi smartphones. Xiaomi stated many times that US will get its smartphones but till now nothing such happened.
In October 2018, the Mi Mix 3 was introduced with 4G connectivity. The smartphone features a sliding selfie camera, a dual camera set up at the back, two front cameras and a bezel-less display.
Let us wait and watch what Xiaomi is going to showcase at the event. Will it showcase the 5G variant of Mix Mix 3 or give details about the availability of the Mi 9 in foreign markets or will introduce its foldable phone?
