As expected, much anticipated Redmi S2 has finally unveiled on 10th of May (today) at the launch event which was conducted at Suning headquarters in Nanjing, China. Few days before the official launch Redmi S2 teased as best selfie camera smartphone till now in the Redmi series. The price, specifications, and design of selfie- centric Redmi S2 have appeared on the internet from the past few months as the launch event is not exciting for us.

Xiaomi Redmi S2 price starts at CNY 999 (roughly Rs. 10,600) for the 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage variant, and while the 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage variant will be costing CNY 1,299 (roughly Rs. 13,700).The Redmi S2 will go on sale on at 10am CST, 17th May on Suning.com. Color options for Redmi S2 are Champagne Gold, Platinum Silver, and Rose Gold colour variants.

As per the listings of TENAA, 3C and E-Commerce Website, Aliexpress, the Redmi S2 bears a 5.99-inch HD+ display with the screen resolution of 1440x720 pixels. The selfie-centric smartphone features an 18:9 aspect ratio display, rounded corners and thin- bezels and all of these are trending these days in the smartphone industry. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor along with Adreno 506 GPU for graphics. As we mentioned above, the Chinese company is offering Redmi S2 in three storage variants. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9 operating system Operating System. The Redmi S2 is available in various color options which include Black, Rose Gold, Gold, White, Blue, Red, Pink, Grey, and Silver.
The key highlighting feature of Redmi S2 is its selfie camera and comes with several shooting modes which include AI Portrait mode, AI Beauty mode, and automatic HDR. The smartphone gets a 16 MP front-facing camera for capturing selfies and video calling. The front camera features a soft LED flash which helps to capture the impressive selfies during low- light conditions. The rumored images have revealed that the smartphone comes with a vertically stacked dual rear cameras which comprise the combination of 12 MP primary camera and 5MP secondary camera. Under the hood, the Redmi S2 is equipped with 3080 mAh battery. In terms of dimensions, it measures 160.7x77.3x8.1 mm and weighs 170 grams.
