Fashion and Tradition together at Expo

Bhubaneswar, What if tradition and fashion mix and expose together in this modern era. Is it not surprising? Yes, of course. The same happened here in the city of India at a fashion show. This fashion show was organized by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and Boyanika (a very popular and top hand-loom body) on the day recess and this fashion show will continue till Feb. 10.

The director of NIFT said, "The fashion show is the part of a contest coordinated by the handlooms, textiles and handicrafts department in which students of fashion designing form 11 NIFT centres of the country took part. The designs showcase their creative whiz and enjoy Indian heritage. The best designs, which can affect the future of handloom industry, were selected by an experts".

Students showed their design of western, cultural, fusion and Odisha sarees during the show-long. The western-wear outfits were well mixed with Odisha's handloom textiles. The western pattern were presented with bold cuts and techniques. The cultural wear gathering shown the root culture of the local state. For that they use materials such as Ikat cotton, silk and tassar fabric.
