Italian automobile giant Fiat is going to launch its brands Jeep and Wrangler in the Indian market with 9 brand new models. Fiat also planning to launch its racing car brand Abarth in 2013.
President and CEO Chrysler Group Mike Manley said in an interview that these two brands will soon going to open in the country and 9 new vehicles are placing for more than four year span to 2016. The first Jeep model will be introduced in the end of 2013 and to 2015-16 the products will be localized.
The Jeep brand will cover the SUV space in the market as firstly small SUVs are going to announce. The brand will be available in selected showrooms in the country. This strategy is considered as a comeback of Fiat in the Indian market. The B and C segment includes SUV and the further segments will move up as B and C. It includes the full segment of Jeep.
Company is not going to upgrading its models Linea and Punto, apart from that it is concentrating on utility vehicles. The multiple hatchbacks will make a boom in the market so the strategy is going to be worth it.
