Information about IPL 1 to IPL 6 2013 India

IPL stands for Indian Premier League which is a tournament of T20 matches in India. It is associated with Board of Control for Cricket in India- BCCI. IPL is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Rajeev Shukla is the commissioner and chairman of IPL and vice president of BCCI.

There are 9 teams in the league consisting cricket players of around the world from different famous teams as Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and India etc. The first tournament was organized in 2008 and Rajasthan Royals was the winner team of the first season. It was a 43 days tournament at various 58 places across the country. The second season was won by Deccan chargers in 2009 by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore in an interesting match. The final of the third season was between Chennai Super kings and Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings got the tournament of third season.

In next fourth season new teams Pune Warriors and Kochi Tuskers were added in IPL and Chennai again won the title of winner. Fifth season was the most controversial IPL tournament and Kolkata Knight Riders were the winners. Kochi Tuskers and Deccan Chargers have defunct from the tournament and new team of Sun Tv Sunrisers Hyderabad will be seen in the six season which is going to be organized in 2013.

The current teams of IPL are Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Daredevils, Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Pune Warriors India, Sunrisers Hydrabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The televisions rights of IPL are owned by Sony Entertainment Television and World Sport Group of Singapore. Prize money for IPL champion team is Rs.10 crore and its sixth season will take place in 2013 with one additional new team.
